Local
Santorini
transportation
There
is
only
one
mode
of
public
transportation
in
Santorini,
the
local
bus
system,
but
it
is
an
efficient
mode
of
public
transportation.
It
does
not
take
long
for
most
visitors
to
learn
the
public
bus
system
and
to
feel
comfortable
using
it,
making
other
modes
of
transportation
mostly
unnecessary
during
a
Santorini
vacation.
It
should
be
noted,
however,
that
busses
stop
running
at
midnight
every
night
of
the
week,
so
any
visitors
who
are
planning
to
be
out
and
about
between
then
and
when
they
start
running
again
at
five
in
the
morning
will
need
to
plan
accordingly.
The
only
time
that
this
may
not
be
true
is
during
the
weekends
in
the
busiest
summer
months.
Traveler
should
check
bus
schedules
upon
arrival
in
Santorini
for
the
most
updated
information.
The
main
bus
station
is
located
in
Fira
near
the
main
square.
It
should
be
noted
that
there
are
no
busses
which
run
directly
from
one
side
of
Santorini
to
the
other
so
visitors
who
expect
to
travel
to
both
sides
of
Santorini
will
likely
become
very
familiar
with
the
main
bus
station
which
is
where
major
bus
transfers
will
occur.
There
are
seven
main
bus
routes
used
by
tourists.
