The ancient city of Akrotiri
and the archaeological site
:Akrotiri
is one of the most important prehistoric settlements
of the Aegean .Evidence of habitation at Akrotiri
first came to light in the second half of the 19th
century.
The
black sand beach of Perissa:
Perissa is seaside village with a magnificent and
interminable beach. The dark sea and the surrounding
green make it one of the most beautiful on the
island.
Pyrgos
Village:The
village has some fine old houses, the remains of a
Venetian castle on the hilltop and several Byzantine
churches; the most notable is the Theotokaki, with
some interesting frescoes.
Oia
Village:
The traditional settlement of Oia is located on the
northern tip of the island, high on the cliff-top.
OIa hosts the most magnificent views on Santorini
and a picturesque road, with cliffs on one side and
sea on the other, leads to this attractive town.
Back to Fira Town:
The town of Fira stands out like a white eagles'
nest, hanging between sea and sky.
Numerous shops offer a great variety of merchandise,
satisfying even the most demanding customers. Small
houses dug in the land, one or two storied, have a
view of either the sea or the land. Lit and crowded
against each other , as they are, on the top of the
cliff, they seem to be wanting to support each
other, so they can reach outward, over the abyss.

We will visit
all the small villages of Santorini and see the
traditional living of the locals:
Megalochoti Village:Megalochori
is a rock village (dug into the bed of a
torrent) in the interior of the island that is
known to have existed since at least the middle
of the 17th century.
Pyrgos
Village:The
village has some fine old houses, the remains of
a Venetian castle on the hilltop and several
Byzantine churches; the most notable is the
Theotokaki, with some interesting frescoes.
Exo Gonia:You
can walk down the square by the church, and
stroll through the narrow lanes with their few
traditional houses.
Kamari
beach:The
black sandy beach, at least two kilometres in
length, is the main attraction of Kamari. On the
beachfront you will find hotels, restaurants,
bars, discos and shops to please all tastes and
budgets.
Messaria
Village:A
beautiful village, centrally located, Messaria
is surrounded by gardens and vineyards. Just
four kilometres from Fira to the southeast,
transportation is available toward and from
every possible island destination. Messaria was
the industrial centre of the island.
